Linkin Park to unveil new EP

On 21st January, Linkin Park and Steve Aoki are unveiling brand new EP named – A Light That Never Comes. This EP has remixes of tracks from the likes of Vicetone, twoloud and Rick Rubin.

At the album announcement, it was told that the EP takes the original electro/rock hybrid and flips it into the worlds of dubstep, house, hardstyle, and beyond. On the A Light That Never Comes Remixes, each individual remix reveals a distinct aim on the original as well as explores the huge space of electronic music.

Rick Rubin, the legendary producer, brings a hip edge to this version, blending sharp electronics and tribal drums. Vicetone does double duty with 2 featured remixes which show frenetic intensity. Aoki’s personal favorite remix comes from twoloud, whose progressive house sound bangs louder than ever. Coone, Angger and Brian Yates also remix singles on the EP.

As Music for Relief organization’s part, Alice in Chains, Offspring, Linkin Park as well as several other well known bands are having an online concerts and auction to raise funds which would go to Philippines typhoon’s victims. Linkin Park and Steve Aoki’s much anticipated video ‘A Light That Never Comes’ has now been released. The video was unveiled today after Aoki and Linkin Park fans scrubbed the Internet in search of the song’s studio version. This is their very first collaboration.

The track was released as a surprise during Aoki’s stage performance at Summer Sonic event in Tokyo previous month, where Steve was joined on the stage by Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.

The distorted and shaky cell phone recordings from the event were the records of the track until now. Now the fans can also see the official video. A Light that Never Comes track will be there on forthcoming Linkin Park’s album named Recharged that features brand new interpretations of tracks from Living Things, which is their most recent album debuted at number one position in more than twenty nations.

Through Aoki’s and Linkin Park’s official websites, both music artists unveiled the track by asking the rooters to play free 3D Facebook game. Once this is unlocked via game, the song’s studio recording was serviced to radio as well as streamed on Xbox Music on demand.

The game is a product of the visions of Linkin Park as well as gaming house Kuuluu Interactive Entertainment AG. Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington made a very special appearance at Tokyo’s Hard Rock Cafe to release Linkin Park Signature Series: Edition 31 T-shirts (of the Hard Rock International) helping Music for Relief as well as its Power the World program.

The exclusive merchandise business is a partnership between the world renowned entertainment and lifestyle brand as well as the Grammy-Award winning band. The line includes women’s and men’s T-shirts featuring magnificent artwork by Linkin Park band member Mike Shinoda. These special edition shirts are limited edition and will be available for some time online.
