Scottish music legend Jimmy Shand’s greatgrandson set to perform at Edinburgh

Lewis Noble, a twelve year old, is going after in the footsteps of accordionist Sir Jimmy by selecting a musical career and would perform with his guitar during the event. Scottish music legend Jimmy Shand’s great-grandson is all set to perform at Edinburgh Fringe this year and he is just twelve years old.
Lewis, who is a student at the Craigclowan Preparatory School in Perth, would act on Edinburgh streets during the 3 week long arts festival. Earlier, he applied to the Fringe bosses to be a part of the street performers and he was very delighted to know that he was accepted.
The Milnathort youngster would play a series of blues pop hits and improvisation. His dad Graeme told that most of what he is playing at the Fringe is improvisation played with backing tracks. But he also loves to play some of the classical blues pieces played by the greats such as Stevie Ray and Joe Bonamassa.
He added that he suspect his interest in playing rock, especially blues guitar, comes from being brought up with his old music collection. But he developed a particular affinity for blues guitar music on his own.
Lewis has played many times at an open mic blues gig at a hotel near his house. Still, he is ignored for big concerts because of his age. Graeme told that along with being a skilled music artist, his child has huge similarities with Fife-born Sir Jimmy, who passed away in the year 2000 at the age of 92.
Graeme added that Lewis plays music associated with adult music artists and he plays at a high level compared to kids of his age.

Local people oppose plan for a music festival in Sussex

The Baker farm near Angola, with 1058 acre area, could be the absolutely perfect place for a late summer music festival – a fest which could attract as many as twenty thousand people as well as have a US$ 10 million to US$ 12 million economic impact, make additional jobs as well as serve local charities with funding in Sussex County, stated Alex Pires, an Dewey Beach entrepreneur.
But lot of people, who live near that place, came out on Tuesday to object the plan and asked the Sussex County Council to traverse a conditional use permit for the fest. Their concerns were – safety, noise and traffic from the concert as well as its impacts on the environment.
Trudy Belotti, an area resident, told that this area cannot deal with the impact of this event. This tranquil lifestyle would be violated.
The Council postponed action on the program but asked the officials of the state transportation get back to them by Tuesday with a traffic management design. The council members stated that they would make a decision after they got a recommendation from Planning and Zoning Commission that gave in action following their public hearing previous week.
Avalon Road’s Evan Bush told that there are better sites in the county as well as other places. He added that the drainage is not great in this area. Standing water following a little rainfall is quite common.
There are plans of holding two events every year. They would take place back to back. One would have country music acts, while the other one would feature folk and country music.
